ABOUT THIS COURSE
Although this course is about the Realtor® Rules of Cooperation, it's not your standard compliance course. This course is produced in StoryStyle™ - engaging storytelling through acted scenarios, interviews, sound and music to engage your imagination.

You'll experience "Realtor® Reality", where we follow Realtor® Julie as she consistently breaks the Rules.

Of course, we've also added a narrator to help walk you through the scenarios and how the rules apply. We've also included key points handouts and reflective exercises and worksheets to help you think through the content.

We welcome expert guest, Kim Spencer - also known as the "Ethics Guy", Kim is the original author of the BC Rules of Cooperation course, on which this content is based.

6. The obligations to provide accurate and complete listing information
7. Identify required professional conduct and cooperative behaviours

PURPOSE OF THE RULES
The Rules of Cooperation, formerly called the MLS® Rules and Regulations, are a set of
standards and rules governing members’ interactions with each other as they work to bring buyers and sellers together. Three BC Real Estate Boards have adopted these rules.

The Rules are, in effect, members’ “rules of engagement,” and describe the kind of behaviour that they are entitled to expect from each other. They are periodically updated to reflect member input; decisions of the Boards’ Professional Conduct Committees; court decisions and regulatory requirements.

While the REALTOR® Code of Ethics generally deals with how Realtors® should treat their clients and the public, the Rules of Cooperation deal with how Realtors® are expected to deal with each other; the standards associated with listings and sales posted to the Multiple Listing Service®, advertising standards, rules regarding commissions, key boxes, access cards and the use of MLS® Data.

The Rules of Cooperation are enforceable under the Bylaws of the Board. Failure to comply with any of the Rules of Cooperation renders the offending Member liable to discipline under the Board’s By-laws and may result in the suspension of MLS® privileges.
